Almost everyone that is buying a property ask themselves this question, and many can’t seem to have a strong decision… Well, I’m here to clear that up!
I’m a huge fan of analogies and if I could give you an analogy of getting a home inspection, here is my best one.. So you are in the market to buy a car… let’s say it’s a 2009 model, not too old, not too new and you find a private seller and the car looks great, feels great, drives great and the owner gives you a carfax report of the vehicle and it’s history… Wouldn’t it make all the sense in the world to pay a mechanic $50-$100 to open the hood and check all of the wires, compression, valves, any leaks, squeaks, dents, seals, brake pads, hoses, etc…? To me, it would seem like a no brainer and it goes the same for a home inspection.
In addition, you will receive a certified inspection report that you can utilize to ask for seller repairs or credit if anything is found that needs repair or replacement. In summary, you are making a huge purchase, whether for a home for your family or an investment to rent out or flip and a home inspection is worth every penny!!
